Waste Not, Want Not!

There is a saying, that everything has at least 2 uses.
I am on a major purging of my house.
If I cannot find a use for it then it must go.
There were many redundant containers and boxes that were headed for the bin.
Even old furniture was going to be given away.
These things have found their 2nd use.

This draw has been organised by using old shoe boxes and ice-cream containers.
You may go buy draw containers from Ikea or the like, but for me, organisation is one thing, but THRIFT is another.
The 2 should go hand in hand.

I have a small kitchen that required more storage.
K-Mart offered the most affordable storage units.
This one was on sale for around $20.
The top basket is my errand basket filled with all the things I need when heading for the car.
The next is my medication basket
Under that the potato draws
The bottom is another health supplies basket.

More K-Mart shelving
The pumpkin was grown in my backyard by just throwing
pumpkin seeds (leftover from dinner) into the garden bed.
Waste Not, Want Not.

Torn boxes were headed for the bin.
Instead I have used them to contain my linen.

More shoe boxes and old containers are used to contain my bathroom supplies.

Cups became cracked in the dishwasher.
They now hold the bathroom washers.

Big W suction storage containers were $2 at the time.
Hold all my daily make-up as well as toothbrush and paste.

This may not be the most attractive way of displaying your bathroom items
but until I'm rich and famous I will continue to stick to the thrift concept and use things twice.
The cracked cups and the old yoghurt containers fit nicely.

PLEASE SHARE OTHER THRIFT IDEAS IF YOU CAN MAKE MY DISPLAY MORE SIGHTLY.

Old bedside table/draws were heading for the garage sale.
BUT
Strong wooden draws can handle the weight of tins of food.
My storage has a home.
So easy to access and rotate.

My feminine aromatic corner.

Plenty of gifts have their home here.

I have used many items here that I have hoarded for over 20 years.
The embroided doily was given in kit form to me by my then boyfriends mother on my 21st birthday.
I did the embroidery myself.
